We are thrilled to invite you to participate in Green Paradise Amsterdam, a groundbreaking art initiative dedicated to envisioning the garden city of the future. This project, hosted at the Meterhuisje in the Westergas area, emerges as a dynamic extension of the exhibition 'The Workers' Paradise: World Garden Cities,' running from October 11, 2024, to July 27, 2025, at Museum Het Schip.
We encourage you to delve into the possibilities and challenges of urban greening through your art. This is your chance to share your vision for the garden city of tomorrow, and to bring that vision to life through tangible artworks. We are issuing an open call for artists connected to creative hubs, offering you the opportunity to present your ideas and turn them into concrete plans.
Practical information
Selected artists will realize their works during December 2024 and January 2025, culminating in an exhibition in February 2025 at the Meterhuisje. This project aims not only to create art but also to spark conversations around sustainability, community, and the future of urban development.
You have one month to submit a proposal detailing how you will reflect on the concept of the Garden City of the Future through your artwork. Works from all disciplines are welcome; whether you make paintings or installations, performances or community art, photography, et cetera - we encourage you to submit your work!
Selection Process: A jury of five experts will evaluate the submitted proposals. From this assessment, three artists will be chosen to realize their unique projects.
