Wendingen (‘turns’, ‘twists’) is the digital interactive platform of Museum the Ship. The name derives from the monthly journal Wendingen which from 1918 to 1931 functioned as the most important medium for the Amsterdam School architects to voice their ideas.
Platform Wendingen is an open-source databank of the architecture and applied arts of the Amsterdam School. Its goal is to put the Amsterdam School on the map in both the figurative and literal sense. The platform is open to contributions from anyone. Housing corporations and admirers alike have added a wide range of Amsterdam School treasures, from housing blocks to jewellery, bridges and stained-glass-windows.
